Three Orlando City players have been chosen for one of the highest national-team honors in soccer.
Midfielders Kevin Molino and Darwin Cerén and forward Cyle Larin have been called up by their home countries for FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Molino will join the Trinidad and Tobago men’s national team on Thursday, March 24, when they play Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at Arnos Vale Stadium at 3:30 p.m. EST. Cerén, a Salvadoran, will lead his team when they match up against Honduras at Estadio Cuscatlán at 9 p.m. EST. Lastly, Larin joins the Canadian national team to take on Mexico at BC Place at 11 p.m. on Friday, March 25.
On Tuesday, March 29, Trinidad and Tobago will host Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at Haseley Crawford Stadium at 7 p.m. EST, El Salvador will play Honduras at Olímpico Metropolitano at 9 p.m. EST, and Canada will play Mexico in the historic Mexican stadium, Estadio Azteca, at 10:30 p.m. EST.
The three Lions will return to MLS play on Sunday, April 3, when they take on the Portland Timbers at 8 p.m. in the Orlando Citrus Bowl.
So far this season, Molino has recorded one assist in three games started, Cerén has been named captain to two of three matches so far, and Larin has scored three goals in three games.
