Alex Morgan, Ashlyn Harris named to national team for friendlies against Colombia

Ahead of the Orlando Pride’s debut in the National Women’s Soccer League, Pride forward Alex Morgan and goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris will be adding to their tally of international appearances.

Morgan and Harris have been selected to the U.S. women’s national team for two friendlies against Colombia. After a six-day training period in Orlando, the national team will travel to Connecticut for a match at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at 7 p.m. EST on April 6. On April 10, the two teams will play again in Pennsylvania at 2 p.m. at Talen Energy Stadium on ESPN.

While both Pride players have made the 23-player roster, U.S. head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players for each match. Both players should have no problem making the final cut.

Morgan was awarded the Golden Boot and the Golden Ball as the top player in the six-match SheBelieves Cup after scoring in victories against France and Germany, as the USWNT went on to sweep the tournament.

Harris, a 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, has made eight international appearances.
